Upcoming MLK Jr. Way S Safety Enhancements
In May and June 2025, Sound Transit and SDOT will enhance safety at four MLK Jr. Way S light‑rail crossings—at S Dawson, S Brandon, S Cloverdale and S Kenyon—by adding white crosshatch pavement markings and “DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS” signs to clearly define a safe buffer zone around the rails.
Crews will do most of the work overnight (1–5 AM) to keep your daytime commute flowing, but you may still encounter short closures, detours or lane shifts. Please stay alert, follow detour signage and allow a few extra minutes for your trip. For the latest schedules, maps and travel tips, visit soundtransit.org/atgradecrossing.
