Off-Street Parking in Downtown Seattle

SDOT periodically surveys off-street parking in downtown Seattle to monitor the supply of off-street parking, improve our understanding of how parking is used in different neighborhoods, and provide a consistent data source for public and private projects.

In June 2016, SDOT surveyed 50,000 publicly available parking spaces in 230 garages and lots in the Central Business District and South Lake Union.

Earlier downtown parking studies were conducted by the Puget Sound Regional Council.

The 2016 and 2014 technical reports share the study methodology and summary of findings.
