How to Find Work with SDOT
The Seattle Department of Transportation provides many opportunities in consulting, contracting, and purchasing.

Register with the City of Seattle as a business through the Online Business Directory.
Here you can:
- Join a Consultant Roster for a specialized service. SDOT uses the Roster consistently to find consultants for a variety of projects.
- Register as a Women or Minority-Owned Business with the City of Seattle.
Consultant Services
We use the following processes to procure consultant services:
- Direct Selection: Direct selection is used when the total value of the work is less than $54,000.
- Consultant Roster: The City’s Consultant Roster may be used when the value of work is less than $322,000, an appropriate roster category exists and a suitable consultant is available for use.
- Full Solicitation: RFPs and RFQs are used when the value of work is over $322,000, or over $54,000 if the Consultant Roster is not used.

The City’s Consultant Roster is a list of consultants specializing in a given field. This procurement method may be used when the value of work is less than $322,000, an appropriate roster category exists, and a suitable consultant is available for use. Roster categories frequently used by SDOT include, but are not limited to the following:
