Brighton Playfield, located next to Aki Kurose Middle School, includes ballfields, tennis courts, and a children's play area. Brighton Playfield, purchased in 1913, was named for the original town site, called "Brighton Beach" in honor of a seaport in England.

Current Projects

Brighton Playfield Tennis Court Repair Project

Seattle Parks and Recreation is making repairs and applying a sport court surface to the tennis courts at Brighton Playfield. The project will repair the cracks on the courts, and then a sport court surface will be applied. The tennis courts will be closed during construction.

Brighton Playfield Renovation Project

The project will replace the existing lighted natural turf playfield (soccer, baseball, softball. . .) with a new lighted and renovated 200,000 square foot synthetic turf field. We will be looking at new/upgraded accessible pathways, spectator areas, reuse of existing seating/bleachers and connections with other existing park features.
