Stan Sayres Boat Ramp Replacement
Updated: December 3, 2025
Winter 2025
This project will replace the existing boat ramp, which has reached the end of its useful life, with concrete. In addition, gangways and floats will be added to the existing fixed piers, which will allow easier access for most boats using the facility. As part of required over-the-water coverage mitigation, required by the US Army Corps Permit, certain timber docks will be removed.
The US Army Corps Permit has been received, which is a major milestone for any marine project.
Location
Stan Sayres Memorial Park, 3808 Lake Washington Blvd. S, Seattle, WA 98118
Budget
The City is currently working through the budget as costs have escalated well beyond the original budget as a result of the long lead time for the permit issuance. The City has enough funds to complete a section of the boat ramp starting in late-Summer 2026.
Schedule
The work may be accomplished in 2 stages. The first stage will replace the northern section of the boat ramp starting in Late Summer 2025 (after Seafair). The remainder of the project will be completed TBD, depending on budget decisions
