In early 2024, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) completed the Off-Leash Area (OLA) Expansion Study, which identified multiple suitable sites for future OLA development. Sites at Othello Playground and West Seattle Stadium were funded for development and are now underway.

Budget

The Seattle Park District provides $3,103,000 for the planning, design, and construction of two OLAs, one at Othello Playground and one at West Seattle Stadium (4432 35th Ave SW)

Project Description

This project will build an OLA in the current lawn space in the southwest corner of the park featuring a fenced area for unleashed dogs, seating, and a planted stormwater bioretention area.
