Teen Summer Musical
Teen Summer Musical is a unique 10-week program providing an introduction to the world of theatre and targeting youth of color ages 9-18.
Through workshops and collaborative practice, the participants develop self-discipline, self-confidence and self-motivation utilizing the Discipline, Confidence and Motivation Program for the Arts (D.C.M.P.A.) framework. These character traits are essential to helping participants grow to become emotionally healthy, contributing members of our community.
2026 Teen Summer Musical: Peter Pan
In 2026, we will cast over 70 roles in the musical number Peter Pan.
Costs and Compensation
Participant cost is $350 for youth age 13-15 and $400 for youth age 9-12. Breakfast and lunch are provided to participants. Breakfast and lunch are provided during program.
Registered participants ages 9-12 receive one stipend of $300. Registered participants ages 13-15 receive one stipend of $599. Stipends are paid at the completion of the program. Registered participants ages 16-18 are paid minimum wage $21.30 per hour, every 2 weeks.
2026 Program Dates
- Auditions: April 17th & 18th
- Rehearsals: June 29th – August 27th
- Performances: August 28th – 30th.
2026 Production Team
Isiah Anderson Jr. (Director)
Isiah serves as the Performing Arts Program Coordinator for the Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation and has been the Director of the Teen Summer Musical for more than 20 years.
Michelle Lang-Raymond (Music Director)
Michelle is a Founder and Executive Director of Acts on Stage Theater.
Cedric Thomas (Music Director)
Cedric is a musician who has played, performed, and directed music his entire life. He studied Music Performance and Theory at Shoreline Community College.
Kevin Krist (Set Designer)
Kevin works for the Seattle Pacific Northwest Ballet and several other theatrical companies in the Seattle area.
Carlisia Minus (Costume Designer)
After years of making clothes, Carlisia enrolled in Seattle Central Community College apparel program. After receiving her degree, she started Mac Fashion House.
Sam Townsend (Program Director)
Sam has served as Executive Administrator of the Greater Glory Ministries as well as Director of the Music and Worship Arts Development at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship.
Julian Ling (Stage Manager)
At just 19 years old, Julian has stage managed numerous productions since his sophomore year in High School.
Jeffrey Cheatham (Production Assistant)
Jeffrey is professional actor and children’s book author and founder of the Seattle Children’s Book Exchange.
Joshua Webb (Production Assistant)
Joshua is a professional actor as well as a mentor and basketball coach at Denny Middle School.
