Burke-Gilman Trail Repairs

Updated: August 21, 2025

Summer 2025

In July of last year, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) performed a conditions assessment to document and map the paving issues along the portions of the Burke-Gilman Trail maintained by SPR. This information is used to help inform planning for future trail maintenance as part of this ongoing program.

Informed by this condition assessment, repair work is being planned along the length of the trail between 77th and Inverness. Construction is expected to last approximately two weeks, weather permitting. During this time, the trail will remain open to the public. Temporary gravel ramps will be installed, and all repair sections will remain passable; however, surface conditions will be uneven at repair sites.

Please see below for the traffic control plan, conditions assessment map and the repair locations.

About

Thanks to Seattle Park District funds, SPR regularly maintains the Burke Gilman to ensure that this invaluable community asset remains a safe and enjoyable resource for all users. Within the scope of our Asset Management & Life Cycle Program, we conduct routine repair of sections of the Burke Gilman Trail where the paving is impacted by age and uplift caused by roots.
