About

Jefferson Community Center is in the heart of Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood, just minutes from downtown. Originally built in the 1930s, the community center has had several renovations, the most recent in 2022. The renovation offers a welcoming front entrance, and the main floor has Hasselberg Hall, a pottery room, meeting room, social area, teen room, and a gym.

The community center offers a wide variety of programs for kids, teens, and seniors, including toddler dance classes, pottery and art classes, fitness classes, summer day camps, and special events. The Beacon Hill Festival is a major community event held here every year on the first Saturday in June, with activities and entertainment for the whole family. Also, Jefferson is the only center to have a Mock Trial team. This team reached the state championship competition in 2019.

The community center is in the expanded and renovated Jefferson Park. This destination park boasts a large play area, spray park, zip lines, tennis courts, skate park, sports fields, the oldest golf course in Seattle, and a great ¾-mile walking path. Nearby are a fire station, Mercer Middle School, and Seattle Parks and Recreation horticulture buildings.
