City Wide Pools

Summer 2020

As a project management efficiency, Seattle Parks and Recreation, Planning and Development Division (PDD) consolidated needed citywide pool repairs into one bid package. Seattle Parks and Recreation awarded the construction contract to Biwell Construction, Inc. in early October 2018.

The City Wide Pools project is addressing needed structural improvements to seven existing pools:

  • Queen Anne - Queen Anne Pool completed structural repairs and the project is completed. Please refer to the pool main website regarding pool operating hours.
  • Medgar Evers - The project is completed. Please refer to the pool main website regarding pool operating hours. Repairs included: Refurbished existing pool bulkhead. Selective pool deck slab demolition and replacement. Selective pool deck drains demolition and replacement. Installed new plaster liner. Repaired SBS membrane roof at stair tower/mechanical room roof.
  • Meadowbrook - Selective pool deck slab demolition and replacement. Selective pool deck drains demolition and replacement. Selective repair of pool edge apron. Replacement of Natatorium air handling unit and associated duct work at Meadowbrook Pool is complete. The project is completed. Please refer to the pool main website regarding pool operating hours.
  • Mounger Pool - Mounger Pool completed structural repairs and the project is completed. Please refer to the pool main website regarding pool operating hours.
  • Southwest - Replacement of the pool liner is complete and the project is completed. Please refer to the pool main website regarding pool operating hours.
  • Madison - The project is completed. Please refer to the pool main website regarding pool operating hours. Exterior work continues, but the facility is open and there is access into the facility.
    Refurbish existing pool bulkhead. Demolish and replace roof, install insulation, and provide seismic structural upgrades. Demolition and repair of stucco walls, siding, and clerestory windows. Demolish and replace lighting fixtures.
  • Ballard - Pool is closed for these repairs. Demolish and replace existing concrete pool deck, pool deck drains, pool & spa plaster liner and replace existing pool filter system. Due to delays in construction work caused by the coronavirus, the Ballard Pool will not reopen until September 2020 at the earliest. Please check our Facebook page for updates, and we'll post new information to this page if we get any. We appreciate your continued patience.

  • Ballard Pool: December 2, 2019 - (Pool is closed; will not reopen until September 2020 at the earliest.)
