July 1: Construction along the central waterfront pauses for the summer, and businesses reopen.

July 3 - 4: Firecracker 5000 fun run will close streets in South Lake Union Friday night.

July 4: Annual Seafair Summer Fourth fireworks show will close streets in neighborhoods around Lake Union Saturday.

July 8: Southbound SR99 exit to S. Atlantic St. closed Wednesday following the 12:40PM Mariner game.

July 10 - 12: Neighborhood summer festivals will close streets in Ballard, West Seattle and Chinatown.

Alaskan Way waterfront businesses between University Ave. and Madison St. reopen Beginning July 1st, construction will pause along the central waterfront and businesses will reopen.  Construction will resume on October 1 and businesses will remain open.  During the summer months, on-street parking will be available between the Seattle Aquarium and Pier 57.  A pedestrian-only promenade will be located between University St. and Madison St.
July 2 & 3 Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America SPD will use one lane of traffic to escort celebrity and Special Olympic athletes carrying the Flame of Hope through the Seattle area Thursday and Friday.  Please refer to the website for the Seattle route.

3rd Ave. Transit Corridor Improvement Project Crews will relocate bus stops and load zones on 3rd Ave. between Pine St. and Union St. in order to make more room for transit and enhance the area for passengers and pedestrians.  Similar work will also take place on Pine St. between 4th Ave. and 3rd Ave.  Work will include temporary narrowing of sidewalks and curb lane closures.  Work hours are 9AM to 3PM weekdays and 8AM to 6PM on weekends.

Work will begin on the seawall between Pike St. and Madison St.  Impacts include: temporary closure of retail businesses on Piers 54, 55, and 56 to allow construction to proceed as efficiently as possible;  removal of on-street parking west of the viaduct between Pike and Madison Streets.  Many businesses will remain open, including the Seattle Aquarium, Argosy Cruises, the Great Wheel and Pier 57, and Colman Dock.  Ferry access entry point will shift to just south of Madison St. until January 2015.

Phase 1 - S. Jackson St. to E. John St.
A Seattle Department of Transportation project that will improve safety and mobility for drivers, pedestrians and transit riders. The project includes: modifying 23rd Ave. from a four-lane street to a three-lane street - one lane in each direction with a center left-turn lane (key intersections will stay four lanes); repaving 23rd Ave;
widening sidewalks to at least five feet and repairing broken and buckling sidewalks; installing new streetlights; upgrading traffic signals to give transit priority at key locations; consolidating bus stops to improve transit speed; replacing a 100 year-old water main that runs underneath 23rd Ave.

University of Washington's Montlake Triangle Project Project will construct a new pedestrian land bridge over NE Pacific Place connecting the Montlake Triangle and Rainier Vista.  The project will provide landscaping, hard surfacing, lighting, and other site improvements from Stevens Way through the Montlake Triangle.  Work is expected to be complete in the Fall of 2015.

Electrical System Upgrade along S. Horton St.
Seattle City Light crews will be working to increase the electrical service reliability in the SODO neighborhood with an electrical system upgrade along S. Horton St. between 4th Ave. S. and Colorado Ave. S.  The project involves replacing poles, overhead electrical wire, and upgrading equipment.  Parking impacts are expected, as well as several planned power outages of 2 to 3 hours each.
Until further notice First Hill Streetcar Project Construction on the First Hill Streetcar Project is complete.  Delivery of the streetcars is behind schedule, with the initial deliveries now expected in December.  Operations are expected to begin in early 2015, once testing of the streetcar system is complete.

Street Light Power Project near Seattle Center

The sidewalk on the east side of Montlake Blvd. E. over SR520 will be closed while crews repave the sidewalk and install new utilities.
