September 22 - 24: Community festivals will close multiple streets in Seattle's Fremont, Montlake, and Broadview neighborhoods.

September 23: Directional closures of Denny Way between Stewart St. and Fairview Ave. N. while crews pave the roadway.

September 23: Coldplay concert at 7PM at CenturyLink Field.

Washington State Ferries -
Seattle Multimodal Terminal at Colman Dock Project
Washington State Ferries is replacing the aging and seismically vulnerable parts of Colman Dock in Seattle in order to maintain its critical role as a regional multimodal transportation hub.

Key project elements include:
Replacing the existing timber trestle portion of the dock with a new concrete and steel trestle;
Replacing the main terminal building;
Replacing the passenger-only ferry facility on the south edge of Colman Dock;
Constructing a new elevated walkway between the terminal building and the passenger-only ferry facility;
Replacing the overhead loading facility on the northernmost slip; Adding a bicycle entry and holding area north of Marion Street; Maintaining an elevated connection between the terminal building and the Marion St. Bridge;
Providing stairs and elevators to connect the facility to Alaskan Wy.

3rd Ave. Arterial Paving Project The Seattle Department of Transportation will repave 3rd Ave. through Belltown (Virginia St to Broad St).  Construction is currently slated to begin on Tuesday, May 2.  Crews will work from south to north, with the project area divided into four construction zones.  Work must be substantially complete in one zone before the contractor moves onto the next.

2nd Ave. Mobility Improvements Project The Seattle Department of Transportation is making traffic signal improvements and extending the existing 2-way protected bike lane along 2nd Ave from Pike St to Denny Way. These improvements will organize the street and move people more efficiently.  Construction will start in early 2017 and the new protected bike lane is scheduled to open in fall 2017.

Sidewalk, parking lane, and traffic lane restrictions on 2nd Ave. between Denny Way and Pike St. during potholing for underground utilities, and signal and foundation work.  During working hours, one lane will remain open at all times north of Lenora St; two lanes will remain open south of Lenora St. Work hours are 7AM to 6PM weekdays.  Intermittent lane closures on cross-streets are also possible during working hours.

Denny Substation project Seattle City Light will construct a new electrical substation, its first and largest in 30 years, near the intersection of Denny Way and Stewart Street. An underground distribution network and transmission line will also be built to carry power to the substation and deliver it to customers.

Denny Network project City Light's contractor, Shimmick Construction Company, Inc., began construction of the Denny Substation network on February 29, 2016. Work on the network will be completed in six stages. Each stage will begin with the installation of vaults, followed by the installation of a duct bank system that will connect the vaults. Street restoration will conclude each stage.  The project is expected to be complete by mid-2018.

Yesler Bridge Rehabilitation Project The Seattle Department of Transportation will be rehabilitating the Yesler Way Bridge, located at the intersection of Yesler Way and Terrace St over 4th Ave S, starting as soon as May 2016 and lasting through fall 2017.  Traffic impacts will include: Yesler Way closed in both directions between 3rd Ave. and midway between 5th Ave. and 6th Ave; Terrace St. closed to through traffic, open to local access; 4th Ave. will have ongoing lane closures and occasional full nighttime and weekend closures; sidewalks on either side of 4th Ave. will have alternating closures; transit and bicycle detours in the project area.

E. Union St. Underground Conversions Project
A Seattle City Light contractor will be working in the Capitol Hill neighborhood to install underground electrical conduit, vaults and associated equipment in parts of E. Union St. from 10th to 11th Ave. This work is aligned with the City of Seattle's ordinance to underground power lines in this area.  Work is expected to last 5 months.

Northgate Station
The elevated Northgate Station will be located east of 1st Ave NE, spanning NE 103rd Street. Station entrances will be on the Northgate Mall property north of NE 103rd Street and near the Northgate Transit Center south of NE 103rd Street.   Service is scheduled to begin in 2021.

Until further notice The North Seattle Park-and-Ride lot and interim Park-and-Ride lot located near the former Marie Callender's restaurant in Northgate will close Monday, March 17, 2016.  The new interim Park-and-Ride will be located at the NW corner of NE 103rd St. and 5th Ave. NE.
Until further notice Construction of the Northgate light rail station will occupy space in the Northgate Park-and-Ride (West).  Fencing will go up around the middle section of the West lot as early as Dec. 7, 2016.  To offset the loss of those stalls, the north end of the former North Seattle Park & Ride will reopen on the west side of 1st Ave NE between NE 100th and 103rd Streets.

Seattle City Light Project -
S. Main St. Reliability Upgrade Project
Lane, parking, and pedestrian restrictions on S. Main St. between 1st Ave. S. and Occidental Ave. S. during replacement of existing underground electrical conduits.  During work in the 1st & Main intersection, lanes will be reduced and detours in effect (intersection work will take place on weekends only). Work hours are 9AM to 3PM weekdays, and 9AM to 6PM weekdays.

Crews will close westbound S. Washington St. between 1st Ave. S. and Alaskan Way. S. during the installation of new electrical duct banks.  One lane of eastbound traffic will be maintained at all times.  Work hours are 9AM to 3PM weekdays, with intermittent weekend work from 9AM to 6PM.

1st Ave. & S. Jackson St. Duct Bank Project
As early as August 7, Seattle City Light crews will replace underground electrical conduits (duct banks) and then pull in new electrical cable at vaults along S. Jackson St.  Work will start approximately one-half block east of 1st Ave. S. and end at S. Jackson St's intersection with 1st Ave. S. The plan is to complete the work in three stages.  Project is expected to take approximately 3 months to complete.

Denny Network project City Light's contractor, Shimmick Construction Company, Inc., began construction of the Denny Substation network on February 29, 2016. Work on the network will be completed in six stages. Each stage will begin with the installation of vaults, followed by the installation of a duct bank system that will connect the vaults. Street restoration will conclude each stage.  The project is expected to be complete by mid-2018.
