Denny Blaine Park
On July 14, 2025, the King County Superior Court ordered the City to develop and submit a plan to abate nuisance activities at Denny Blaine Park. The City submitted its proposed plan on July 28th, and the Court ordered on August 6th that the City has 60 days to abate the nuisance activities under this plan.
The City’s plan divides the park into two areas: clothing optional and clothing required. This plan balances the historical nude use of the park while also responding to the Court order that the City must abate nuisance activities.
About
The grassy non-lifeguarded beach is surrounded by an old stone wall, which marked the shoreline before 1917 when the lake level was lowered nine feet by the construction of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. There is enough room for a volleyball net above and quiet picnics and sunbathing below. (Excerpt from Enjoying Seattle's Parks by Brandt Morgan)
