About

The playfield is adjacent to Delridge Community Center and features large open lawn spaces perfect for playing catch or flying a kite, big trees, and a playground for the kids.

Current Project

Delridge Playfield Synthetic Turf Replacement and Accessibility Improvements

This project will replace the aging synthetic turf at Delridge Playfields. The project will include the removal of the old 'worn out' synthetic turf, address any structural repairs to curbing, sub-subsurface and drainage, and install a new state of the art synthetic turf system. The project will also address some accessibility issues at the field to access exterior restrooms at Delridge Community Center. Accessibility will be completed by the end of December 2023.

Demolition of the old restrooms located on Delridge Way SW was added to the project to address the Crime Prevention through Environmental Design and increase sightlines to the exterior restrooms at Delridge Community Center. We expect demolition completion by the end of February 2024.

Seattle Parks and Recreation continues to lead the way to developing and installing alternate synthetic turf field design sections/materials and deliver a safe, durable, and playable athletic facility and experience.

Budget

The budget for the planning, design and construction of the synthetic turf replacement is $4.2 million.
