Bryant Neighborhood Playground Renovation

Updated: November 19, 2025

Winter 2025

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) has issued the Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Kessel & Associates for construction on a three-play-area renovation package, beginning Monday, July 28, 2025. This package includes play area improvements at Ward Springs Play Area, Bryant Neighborhood Park Play Area, and View Ridge Playfield Play Area, with phased construction planned to minimize community disruption.

Our intention was to not close View Ridge and Bryant at the same time. A procurement issue is preventing View Ridge from being reopened until February. To get both play areas to be open before spring 2026, we will be allowing Kassel and Associates to start fully working at Bryant Play Area and close the play area on 11/24/25. Our goal is to cause the least long term impact to the neighboring communities. Please see the map for nearby play areas.

Nearby play areas:

  • Dahl Playfield
  • Ravenna-Eckstein
  • Ravenna Park
  • Pathways Park (6 blocks away)
  • Magnuson Park “Airport” Playground

We received many comments about adding restrooms. We’ve forwarded the comments for SPR asset planning’s consideration; however, at this time, the project is not able to address restroom needs.
