About
Garfield Playfield shares its campus with the Garfield Community Center, Garfield Teen Life Center, and Medgar Evers Pool. It features a playground, tennis courts, a football field, a track, restrooms, and other sports fields.
The playfield was originally named "Walla Walla," named for an Indian tribe in SE Washington, which means "place of many waters (streams)". In 1923, the Park Board named the Playfield after the school, which was named to honor James A. Garfield, the 20th U.S. President in 1881.

Reserve your tennis court
Outdoor tennis court reservations are managed by Amy Yee Tennis Center, with self service reservations available online in Active Net (free account required). Reservations are also available by phone. Call (206) 684-4764, or visit Amy Yee Tennis Center in person.
