Grills Dog Off Leash Areas Play Area Art in the Park Trails Restrooms Picnic Sites

Westcrest Park is a very large park. It has a view platform with a great panoramic view of the city skyline, a flat open meadow, with a short walking path, and a dog off-leash area.

Westcrest Park Play Area Equipment Replacement

This new play structure replaces a wooden one that has deteriorated beyond repair. The play area has been closed for safety reasons. The contract for Westcrest Play Area and Lincoln Park Play Areas has been awarded to LW Sunstrom. We anticipate play equipment to be available to ship in March 2024. As such, we will negotiate a start date with the contractor this fall. Construction will likely start in winter 2023/2024 to align with the availability of the play equipment.

Seattle Park District is funding the work. The bid advertisement for construction for this project was posted on May 31, 2023. The bid opening was June 21, 2023. The bid set includes both Lincoln Park South Play Area and Westcrest Park. Both projects will be constructed by the same contractor. This webpage will be updated when the construction start date is confirmed.

Westcrest Park Off-Leash Area

Westcrest Park, 9000 8th Ave SW, Seattle, WA

Westcrest Park is located on a hill above and west of Boeing Field in southwest Seattle. It contains approximately 8.4 acres and features open spaces and paths, a doggie drinking fountain, shade, trees and lots of open space. For people, the off-leash area provides benches, chairs, and a shady place to relax. Restrooms, play areas and picnic areas are nearby. Improvements include a parking lot, fencing, shelters and lighting.

Parking is available in the Westcrest parking lot, which is located approximately 150 yards south of the off-leash area. Dogs need to be leashed when walking between the parking lot and the off-leash area.

A special, separated area for small and shy dogs is located on the southwest side of the main off-leash area.

From the parking lot, follow the path to the right of the playground and picnic area. Beyond the picnic area, you will see the Off-Leash Area ahead, to the right of the reservoir.
