Garfield Community Center offers a variety of registration-based programs which change each quarter.  Scholarships may be available for those who income-qualify.

About

Garfield Community Center is located on the Garfield Campus in the heart of Seattle's historic Central Area, along with Medgar Evers Swimming Pool, Garfield Teen Life Center, Garfield High School, baseball fields, tennis courts, and a children's play area.

The center is a one-story brick building with a lobby that has a small sitting room with a TV, books, WiFi, and a high ceiling that gives it an open feeling filled with natural light. Other interior spaces include a gym, multipurpose room, and other large and small rooms used for youth, adult and senior programs, classes and community meetings.

The community center offers a wide variety of programs and classes and hosts numerous community events throughout the year, meeting the needs of a very diverse community that includes youth, tweens, teens, and seniors of all races, genders, and sexual orientations.

Current Project

Visit the Community Centers Decarbonization and Electrification project page to learn about facility upgrades and how Seattle Parks is improving general energy performance and electrifying these facilities to transform their energy profiles. This project is bundled with Jefferson Community Center, Garfield Community Center, Rainier Community Center, Van Asselt Community Center and the Genesse Maintenance Crew Headquarters.
