View Ridge Playfield Playground Renovation

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is happy to announce the View Ridge play area is open! This package includes play area improvements at Ward Springs Play AreaBryant Neighborhood Park Play Area, and View Ridge Playfield Play Area.

SPR is finalizing construction on the picnic area adjacent to the restroom. 

Please watch this site for a ribbon cutting celebration in June 2026.

Budget

Seattle Park District provides $730,000 for planning, design and construction.

$425,000 has been added to this budget to address the restroom renovation.

Planning: 2022
Design: 2024 - Spring 2025
Construction: Late Summer 2025 - Early 2026

This project is part of a package of three play areas that are being renovated. The above planned construction duration includes renovations at all three locations. 

Project Description

This project will replace the existing play area and make accessibility improvements to the pathway from the park entrance. All improvements will meet accessibility and stormwater requirements. Additionally, it will update the pathways through the park to create an accessible route to the play area and renovate the restroom building to meet all current accessibility standards.

The play area and restroom building will be closed throughout construction.
