About

Alki Community Center is located two blocks south of one of Seattle's most popular destinations: Alki Beach Park in West Seattle. Built 1954, the small brick building is connected to Alki Elementary School and adjacent to Alki Playground.

Alki Community Center has been reclassified as a limited use site, currently supporting preschool and school age care.

The shared gym is managed by Seattle Public Schools. Use and rental inquiries should reach out to SPS at: Building Rentals - Seattle Public Schools

Alki Community Center Improvements

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is coordinating with Seattle Public Schools (SPS) on improvements to the Community Center. As part of the Alki Elementary Renovation, the Community Center building systems (electrical, water, sewer, heating) are being decoupled from the school and new systems installed. Construction will be complete by the start of the 2026 school year.

SPS is leading the construction effort. For more information please contact Brian Fabella at brfabella@seattleschools.org, (206) 252-0702 or visit the Seattle Public Schools project website.
