Lincoln Park South Play Area Renovation

The January 24 meeting was an opportunity for reviewing the preferred design and providing input on desired final changes. Seattle Parks and Recreation's Planner, Project Manager and Sr. Landscape Architect wish to thank everyone who attended and provided input. Thank you to everyone who made the first community meeting a great success and to the 288 responders to the online survey. See the survey results and meeting documents below. The first meeting was an opportunity to learn about the project and provide input on play equipment and the overall design for the play area.

The Lincoln Park South Play area is located in Lincoln Park 8011 Fauntleroy Way SW, Seattle, WA 98136 near the south parking lot. This project will replace play equipment, provide access improvements and improve other features at the park. The scope for the project provides improvements to bring the play area into compliance with current play area safety standards and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access.

Seattle Park District provides $600,000 for planning, design and construction.


Planning: Fall 2017 –  Early Winter 2018
Design: Winter 2018  - Spring 2018
Construction: Summer 2018

Project Description

This improvement project is funded by the Seattle Park District. The play area renovation will update play equipment with play structures accessible to children of all ages and abilities. Additionally, accessibility improvements that meet the standards from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be made throughout the play area.
