This meeting was the first part of the planning and initial design work for phase two of park improvements on the play area. This phase will address community/park needs and add additional amenities as outlined in the Long Range Development Plan.

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) completed phase one of improvements at Marra-Desimone Park and the park is now open. Phase one of development was shaped by budget and community priorities which included accessible pathways, walking loops, a central open green area, benches, picnic tables, drainage improvements, a paved parking lot with ADA parking, a new irrigation system with solar-powered control system, and 80+ trees and grass plantings.

As part of the Marra-Desimone Park improvement project, SPR collaborated with SDOT on street accessibility improvements on South 7th Street and Director Avenue South.
