What’s happening now

We're scheduled to pave SW Roxbury St as soon as 2019, pending funding availability.

Thank you to all who shared feedback on the draft street concepts. Stay in the loop by signing up for email updates. We'll share project information, including the proposed street designs later this summer. Our email updates will also share info on how you can stay involved as we move from planning to design to construction.

Project Overview

We're planning to pave SW Roxbury Way as soon as 2019, pending funding availability.
In addition to paving the street and striping lanes, potential project features include:

  • Updating street design with consideration for people, biking, walking, driving, and taking transit
  • Upgrading curb ramps to make sidewalks more accessible for everyone
  • Repairing cracked and buckled sidewalks

Project Map

Planned project location:

  • SW Roxbury St: 15th Ave SW - 35th Ave SW

Program Description

Arterial streets are primary routes for moving people and goods through the city and connecting neighborhoods and business districts to one another and the regional transportation network.

Each year, we pave arterial streets in poor condition to make them safer, smoother, and to extend their useful life. Keeping our transportation system in a state of good repair helps lower the cost of future maintenance.

We prioritize paving based on pavement condition, traffic volume, geographic equity, cost, and opportunities for grants or coordination with other projects in the area.

Schedule

Spring/summer 2017: Share early concepts and get feedback
2017/2018: Design
As soon as 2019: Construction

Funding

These projects are funded by the 9-year Levy to Move Seattle, approved by voters in 2015.
