Project Description

The purpose of this study is to build upon the recommendations of the 2019 Pickleball Pilot Study and guide the development, selection and operation of outdoor pickleball and dual-striped tennis-pickleball courts in Seattle parks. Specifically, it will examine layout options to establish a standard for dual-striped courts, investigate possible locations for dedicated pickleball courts, and engage users to gather feedback on design and use issues. The findings and recommendations developed within the study will be presented to the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners at the study's conclusion.

This project will begin in November 2021 and is scheduled to be finalized in March 2023.

$50,000 from the Seattle Park District has been provided for this study.

Community Participation

This project will include two public meetings. Dates and venues for the meetings will be posted to this page once established. This project will also convene an advisory committee made up of pickleball and tennis players that will meet regularly throughout the course of the study.
