Dearborn Park Play Area Renovation

Updated: February 23, 2021

Early 2021

We have taken information and ideas from the online survey and online open house to create a concept for the Dearborn Play area.

We heard a preference for nature play, a stronger connection to the surrounding wooded area, and the need to create a safer environment. Based on this, we developed the following concepts.

This project is considering adding artwork. If you have interest in this, please reach out to Michelle Whitfield.

If you would like to sign up to receive updates about this project, please send e-mail address to Michelle Whitfield.

Finally, if you  have any comments on the renderings, please tell us what you think and send to Capital Project Coordinator, or call at 206-465-8492.

Project Description

This project replaces the play equipment with equipment that is accessible to children of all abilities. Additionally, site accessibility improvements that meet the standards from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be made.

During construction the contractor will need to close the play area portion of the park. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the contractor hired for the project will work to minimize impact to the neighborhood.
