Getting Around Seattle

Whether you walk, bike, take transit or drive, check out these resources to help you get around.

Walking

Walking Resources

Most of us walk or wheel our way around for at least part of our trips every day. Whether it’s getting from your front door to the bus stop, or from your parking spot to a table at your favorite restaurant, walking is the most basic form of transportation. It’s also free and healthy. Just don’t forget your rain coat.

Bicycling

Biking Resources

Explore Seattle by bike! We're working on building a bike network for all ages and abilities - whether you're riding to work, running errands, or dropping your kids off at school. Learn the rules of the road, get a bike map, see what projects are in your neighborhood, and more.

Trucking

Trucking Resources

Moving goods in, out of, and around Seattle is key to our regional economy and our everyday life. We rely on freight movement to make sure store shelves are stocked and those two-day deliveries are made on time (the ones we all make at the push of a button). If you drive delivery vehicles or large trucks, plan your route ahead of time using the tools below.

Transit

Transit Resources

Seattle has a wide variety of transit options, whether you're looking to travel on land or sea. While the City doesn't run the buses or light rail trains, we do work closely with other agencies to buy bus service, improve reliability, and make sure people can get where they need to go.

Driving & Parking

Driving Resources

Getting around by car means so many things these days. You can hail a cab or request a ride with a push of a button on your smartphone. You can share a car via several companies. Or, you can drive your own car if that's your thing. Once you get to where you're going, you'll likely need to find a parking spot. We manage on-street parking and also work with a number of garages downtown in our ePark system. Learn about the growing list of options below.
