15th Ave NW and NW 83rd St Pedestrian Safety Enhancements

Updated: October 20, 2021

What's happening now?

This project was originally planned to be built in 2021, but we need additional time to design the project with community feedback. Construction is now planned to start in early 2022.

We are still committed to delivering this project as part of the NSF program and thank you for your patience. We will provide updates as we approach construction.

Project Overview

In 2019, the 15th Ave NW and NW 83rd St Pedestrian Safety Enhancements was one of 15 selected projects by the Levy to Move Seattle Oversight Committee to be funded through SDOT's Neighborhood Street Fund Program. The project, located at the intersection of 15th Ave NW and NW 83rd St aims to enhance the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists crossing the street. This project will also help connect a future neighborhood greenway along NW 83rd St.

Note: funds not used for this project will be returned to the NSF program budget.

Project Background

This is one of 15 Neighborhood Street Fund projects requested by neighbors and selected by the Levy to Move Seattle Oversight Committee. Neighborhood Street Fund is a city program, running on 3-year cycles, that enables neighbors to propose and help prioritize transportation-related projects that are then built by the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT).
