SPU Transfer Stations are currently open. Only visit them if necessary.

Closed 4th of July (North Transfer only), Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.


North Station

Accepted materials include: recyclables, garbage, clean yard waste, clean wood waste, vehicle tires, appliances (no commercial appliances), and household sharps. A wide range of items—including tires, scrap metal, and vehicle batteries—can be recycled. Regular household garbage and many larger items are accepted for disposal.

Pay with: cash, check, Visa, or Mastercard. Make checks payable to "City of Seattle, Dept. of Finance" and have valid ID. See rates.

Save yourself a trip. It may cost less to have us pick up your item for you. Commercial garbage truck traffic is heaviest between 3 - 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Some items may require special preparation or are not accepted at Recycling and Disposal Stations.
