Get involved in shaping Seattle’s waste prevention future.

Over the past three years, you’ve shared your ideas with us about how Seattle can reduce waste and increase reuse. Your feedback has helped shape the goals, focus areas, and key strategies for our Waste Prevention Strategic Plan and the 2028–2033 Waste Prevention Action Plan.

In fall 2026, we’ll share the Waste Prevention Strategic Plan with the community. In 2027, SPU will publish the 2028–2033 Waste Prevention Action Plan, outlining the specific programs and policies we will implement.

As we carry out the 2028–2033 Action Plan, SPU will continue to work closely with the community to ensure we design and deliver equitable, effective waste‑prevention programs and policies.
