What's happening now?

This project is now in the early stages of design and we'd like to hear from you before we move forward with design in 2020 and construction in 2021.

There are several ways to submit your feedback:

  • Review project concepts and submit your feedback via a comment form at participating libraries and community centers (click here to find a library or community center near you). The comment period will be open until January 31, 2020.

Project Overview

In 2019, the South Delridge Pedestrian Safety Enhancements was one of 15 selected projects by the Levy to Move Seattle Oversight Committee to be funded through SDOT’s Neighborhood Street Fund Program. This project will be coordinated with King Country Metro’s Rapid Ride H Line project.

Elements

  • New walk and bike signal at the intersection of Delridge Way SW and SW Barton St
  • New marked crosswalk at the intersection of Delridge Way SW and SW Barton St

Benefits

  • Walk/bike signals stop car traffic to allow people who walk and bike to safely cross the intersection
  • New curb ramps enhance accessibility for people using mobility devices, riding bikes, or pushing strollers

Schedule

The NSF program runs on 3-year cycles to select, design, and build projects. The application phase for the 2019-2021 cycle opened October 2018 and projects will be constructed in 2021.

Project Background

In 2019, the South Delridge Pedestrian Safety Enhancements was one of 15 projects selected by the Levy to Move Seattle Oversight Committee to be funded through SDOT’s Neighborhood Street Fund (NSF) Program. The project, located at the intersection of Delridge Way SW and SW Barton St aims to enhance the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists crossing the street.

Note: funds not used for this project will be returned to the NSF program budget.
