Programs suspended due to COVID-19

All Spring Clean & Adopt-A-Street program operations are currently suspended. Due to public health and safety guidance on COVID-19, we've taken this precaution to help keep our staff and volunteers safe and healthy. To reduce community risk and exposure, all volunteer groups are advised to cancel all cleanups regardless of size, scope, and/or location. If you have any questions please contact us at adoptastreet@seattle.gov or (206) 684-7647.

Hello, and thank you for your interest in Spring Clean!

Spring Clean is supported by the Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) Adopt-a-Street (AAS) Program and serves as the premier clean-up event for the City of Seattle. Held each year in April and May, Spring Clean provides opportunities for residents to keep our city tidy through community-centered clean-up events. Once you have chosen a clean-up location, the AAS Program will provide your clean-up team with supplies (including garbage/compost bags, gloves, safety vests, and garbage grabbers), and will arrange for your trash bags to be picked up following your clean-up event! SPU partners with Parks and Recreation, Department of Neighborhoods, and Department of Transportation to accomplish this important work.

Last year during Spring Clean, SPU's volunteers:

  • Hosted 107 clean-up events
  • Volunteered 1,633 hours to their community
  • Picked up over 12,000 pounds of litter

We can't wait for Spring Clean again! Come back to this page April 1st to request supplies for your clean-up event. In the meantime, if you have any questions, you can reach us via email at adoptastreet@seattle.gov or by phone at (206) 684-7647.

Have a great day, and thank you for helping keep our community clean!

- SPU Community Partnerships Team
