SPU's Women and Minority Owned Business Enterprise (WMBE) Program

SPU's Women and Minority Owned Business Enterprise (WMBE) Program

Seattle Public Utilities' (SPU) WMBE program offers support to minority- and women-owned businesses who are interested in doing business with us. This includes sharing information about upcoming contract opportunities, connecting you with business resources, and providing a direct connection to our WMBE Manager.

What we do

  • Support opportunities for WMBE firms by promoting inclusive, open and equitable business contracting practices within the City.
  •  Provide staff training and support for intentional and sustainable WMBE inclusion.
  •  Facilitate outreach within the WMBE community to improve access to City work.

Resources for your business

Register on the City of Seattle Online Business Directory (OBD): SPU uses this database to find firms for a variety of business needs. Firms can also register on the Consultant Roster as a small business and identify as a WMBE. You can sign up using a single registration system. You can also check to confirm your firm is appropriately registered and update your firm’s information to keep it current.

Current opportunities: Visit the City of Seattle’s procurement portal for current opportunities.

Last updated: November 2023. We update this list semi-regularly and our goal is to share information about contract opportunities as far in advance of their advertisement as possible, to give firms an opportunity to plan, network, and ask questions. Contact the Project Manager listed for each project with specific questions about an opportunity.
