Protecting Hotel Employees from Injury Ordinance Q & A

2022 Hotel Protections from Injury Ordinance Fact Sheet

The Protecting Hotel Employees from Injury Ordinance

As of July 1, 2020, this law limits the workload of hourly employees who clean the guest rooms of a motel or hotel of 100 or more rooms.  The law restricts the amount of floor space that an employee can clean in a day, creates consent requirements for team cleanings, and requires premium pay if an employee cleans more than the law's limit.

For more information about covered employers and employees, the law, and required postings, please view the QA and our Resources and Language Access pages.
