City Light commercial non-lighting energy efficiency incentives have gone up by an average of 31% for 2025.

Our Lighting to Go program offers instant discounts on qualified commercial LED products to help your business enjoy energy savings and high-quality lighting for years to come.
Contractors can receive instant discounts on qualified heat pumps under 5.4 tons, heat pump water heaters less than 120 gallons, and small ECM circulator pumps.
Discount on Level 2 Chargers Installed at Single-Family Homes
***This discount is no longer available as of Feb. 28, 2025.***
The purchase of a qualified Level 2 EV charger from a participating distributor branch is eligible for an instant discount up to a $400 from City Light through the Seattle City Light Residential Midstream Charger Program.
Contractors can access these rebates for City Light residential customers from a participating distributor branch. You will then pass those savings on to your customer in their bid.
Discount Requirements
- Purchase equipment through a participating distributor branch.
- Chargers must be installed at a single-family property (1 – 4 dwellings) within City Light’s service area.
- Contractor and resident information must be provided. Purchases made by consumers must include the name of the electrical contractor that completed the electrical work.
- Equipment must be an ENERGY STAR certified Level 2 charger with a maximum Output Power of 12 kW (50 amps) or less. Visit ENERGY STAR to learn more and look up product eligibility.
- Limit one electric vehicle charger per dwelling unit.
- The discount cannot exceed 80% of the product’s regular retail cost.
- Rebate runs through Feb. 28, 2025
Additional Incentive Programs
- Washington state currently offers retail sales tax exemption on purchases of EV fueling equipment.
- Federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding provides a tax credit of 30% for project costs up to $1,000 on EV charger installations that occur in low-income or rural census tracts. Some customers may be able to take advantage of this. See Internal Revenue Service Instructions for Form 8911.
