Prior to the Mayor's decision to retain current City Light rates, a rate review process was initiated. Part of this process was convening a Rates Advisory Committee (RAC), a cross-section of citizen and business representatives, to provide input and comment during the rate review. The RAC's scope included the full range of rate-setting issues including revenue requirements, cost of service, cost allocation, and rate design. In summer 2005, the Mayor reviewed all recommendations, reports and analysis from the RAC and other sources, and concluded that the current electric rates should remain unchanged.
