Our mission: The Environmental Affairs Division at Seattle City Light mission is to work proactively and cooperatively with all City Light workers and work units to protect the natural environment, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Through its Environmental Affairs Division (EAD), City Light takes a comprehensive approach to protecting the environment and addressing climate change. EAD supports operations throughout our service territory and across the State, by overseeing programs and services relating to hazardous materials, greenhouse gas reduction, environmental permitting, and the protection of aquatic ecosystems and fish and wildlife habitat.

    North Cascades Environmental Learning Center (NCELC)
      In keeping with the City of Seattle's commitment to the environment and education, Seattle City Light is an enthusiastic partner in a state-of-the-art environmental education facility.
    Skagit Environmental Endowment Commission (SEEC)
      SEEC is a joint US-Canada organization, formed through development of the High Ross Treaty, to benefit the ecosystem of the upper Skagit watershed while fostering sustainable educational and recreational experiences in the basin.
