2020 Fire Prevention Initiatives
COVID Updates - Services During the Pandemic and Re-Opening
The Fire Marshal's Office is providing all services at this time, with some modifications to align with the Governor's Healthy Washington - Roadmap to Recovery plan approved for King County. Our employees are following safe worksite guidelines and ask our customers to do so as well at their jobsites. Please note: our walk-in counter at 220 3rd Ave S has limited hours, and we recommend contacting us by email.
To help you prepare for successful inspections and a safe year, we are sharing our upcoming 2020 fire prevention areas of emphasis, including information about a new non-criminal citation program with penalties of $373+.
- Avoiding "false" or preventable alarms is a top priority.
- Ensuring fire alarms, sprinklers, and other systems are properly maintained so they work when you need them.
- Supporting safety in nightlife event venues and "assembly occupancies" for patrons and employees.
