Hearings By Mail
Instead of appearing in person, you have the option of mitigating or contesting your ticket in writing, called adjudication by mail. Once you have scheduled your hearing, you will receive a written statement form with your hearing notice.
Submit the written statement back to the court prior to your hearing date. You may submit the written statement:
- By mail:
Seattle Municipal Court
ATTN: Magistrate Operations
PO Box 34987
Seattle, WA 98124-4987 - By fax: (206) 470-6884
Once submitted, your written statement will be reviewed by a Magistrate. The Magistrate will make a decision and notify you by mail.
You will receive the decision within ten (10) business days from when you submitted your statement. If you do not receive a response, contact the court at (206) 684-5600.
Written statements sent to the court without an initial hearing scheduled will not be read. Instead, a hearing will be set and you will be sent the appropriate written statement form.
