From Tuesday, July 21 at 10 a.m. to Wednesday, July 22 at 11 p.m., a heat advisory is in place for the Seattle area. Temperatures will range between 88 and 95 degrees, creating a moderate risk of heat-related illness. Stay cool and hydrated. We have had reports that individuals have been engaging in a caller ID spoofing scam, using Seattle Municipal Court phone numbers, and scams involving text messages, some with QR codes. No one from SMC will call you and ask for your personal information or request money. If you should get one of these calls, please hang up and try calling the number displayed in the caller ID to see where the call is coming from. The FCC website (https://www.fcc.gov/spoofing) is a great resource to learn more about caller ID spoofing, including how to file a complaint if you think you have become a victim of a spoofing scam.
