Arriving by Car
I-5 South to Downtown Seattle:
Follow I-5 South to James Street, Exit 165A. Exit onto Sixth Avenue. Turn right on to James Street. The Court is on your right at James Street and Fifth Avenue.
I-5 North to Downtown Seattle:
Follow I-5 North to James Street, Exit 164A. Turn left on James Street. Proceed under the freeway. The Court is on your right at James Street and Fifth Avenue.
*Please note: Fifth Avenue is one-way southbound except for transit. There is no drop-off area in front of the Court.
Parking Information
Public parking is available in the SeaPark Garage located on Sixth Avenue between Cherry and James Streets, directly east of the Court.
Garage entrances are located:
- From Cherry, mid-block between Fifth and Sixth Avenues
- From Sixth Avenue at James Street
- From James, mid-block between Sixth and Fifth Avenues.
Metered parking is available on streets surrounding the Seattle Justice Center and the King County Jail. There are a number of other public pay lots available within walking distance.
Disabled Parking
There are several disabled parking spaces below City Hall, 600 Fourth Ave, for use by those with state-issued disabled parking permits. The garage entrance is from James Street between Fifth and Fourth Avenues. To enter:
- Push the button on the kiosk at the garage entrance to request entry to the garage.
- Park in a designated space.
- Leave the garage and enter City Hall through the door furthest from the garage entrance.
- Proceed to a bank of four elevators and take the elevator to the Lobby Level.
- Exit City Hall on Fifth Avenue and cross the street to the Seattle Municipal Court.
- The Court's Fifth Avenue entrance includes a powered door operated by a push-button for your convenience.
Bike Parking
Bike racks are located in the SeaPark garage. Enter from Sixth Avenue and James Street. Additional racks are located along Fifth Avenue in front of the Seattle Justice Center and City Hall.
Arriving by Bus
The Seattle Justice Center is accessible by a number of public transportation options. To find the most convenient route, use Fifth Avenue and Cherry Street or Fifth Avenue and James street as your destination.
Directions to King County Jail
Seattle Municipal Court has a courtroom inside the King County Jail at 500 Fifth Avenue, Seattle WA, 98104 (located on the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and James Street one block south of the court). The courtroom inside the jail facility is called KCJ2 and is located inside courtroom 2 on the main floor of the jail.
