Save the Date! The SMC has secured a location for our next Community Resource Day. The event is planned for 10 AM-3 PM on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at the Rainier Community Center, 4600 38th Ave. S., Seattle WA, 98118.

Community Resource Day Event Resources:

Department of Labor & Industries (LNI)

Workers' Compensation, Workers' Rights, Workplace Safety etc.,

WA State Department of Labor & Industries is a state agency dedicated to the safety, health, and security of Washington's workers. We help employers meet safety and health standards, and we inspect workplaces when alerted to hazards. Our rules and enforcement programs also help ensure workers are paid what they are owed.

DSHS Belltown Community Services Office

Aging and Disabilities, Food Assistance, License & ID

We provide most DSHS services for events, except for EBT card issuance. Most of the other DSHS services will be available during events. We are at this time co-located at Community Resouce Center providing services to our customers, meeting them where they are.

We provide child support services. 

Humana

Aging and Disabilities, Healthcare/Vision/Dental Services

Assisting people with disabilities or over 65 with healthcare and dental plans. 

International Community Health Services (ICHS)

Behavioral Health Services (Mental Health & Chemical Dependency), Healthcare/Vision/Dental Services

ICHS is an organization that offers a range of health services, including medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health.

KCBA Neighborhood Legal Clinics (NLC)

Legal Services

KCBA's Neighborhood Legal Clinics program provides free consultations with volunteer attorneys on civil legal issues. Staff will provide information about the NLC program and conduct client intake screenings. We cannot give legal advice to attendees at this event. 

King County Residential Treatment Program (KCRTP) - Pioneer Human Services 

Behavioral Health (Mental Health & Chemical Dependency)

KCRTP is a 16-bed, all-gender, co-occurring treatment program for SUD and Mental Health. We offer MRT, DBT, CBT, Employment and Housing Services, and Continuing Care.

Office of Emergency Management (Seattle)

Education

Services offered include basic disaster preparedness education, how to use a fire extinguisher, signing up for emergency alerts and warnings, and learning how to get involved in your community. 

Office of Housing (Seattle)

Housing/Shelter Assistance

Our Home Repair Loan & Grant Program helps homeowners make critical health and safety improvements to their homes at 0% interest.
Our Weatherization Program helps reduce your utility costs and save energy by making free energy efficiency improvements. 

Seattle Office of Labor Standards (Seattle)

Utilities Assistance, Workers' Rights Services

The Office of Labor Standards investigates violations of Seattle labor laws like the minimum wage, wage theft, paid sick and safe time, etc. We can connect workers whose rights have been violated to an investigator to see if our office can help workers with things like back pay or not having access to sick time. 

Rainier Valley Food Bank (RVFB)

Employment & Training, Food Assistance, General Community Resources, Housing/Shelter Assistance, Pet Care Services

RVFB provides clients in South Seattle (or beyond - we do not require proof of address in our service area to receive food or other services) free, fresh food and other human services. Apart from groceries, we also partner with Seattle Public Schools to provide food to children whose families are experiencing housing insecurity. We also have a Community Connector program where clients can get connected to financial assistance for rent, receive hygiene products, and more. 

Reconnect to Opportunity

Education

Reconnect to Opportunity supports young people ages 16 to 24, who have not finished high school.  We also help those who have finished but are unsure about the next steps. We can help connect you with education, employment, and post-secondary training opportunities in King County, Washington.

Seattle Veterinary Outreach (SVO)

Pet Care Services

SVO provides sliding scale, low-cost veterinary care to people experiencing low income or homelessness. At this event, we will be offering free pet resources such as pet food, flea prevention, toys, pet ID tags, and more. Currently, veterinary pet care is not available at this event. Sound Generations

Aging and Disabilities, Education, Food Assistance, General Community Resources, Legal Services, Transportation

Sound Generations is a multiservice nonprofit partnering with older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers to remove the inequities that impact aging by providing accessible, essential, and inclusive services that support people through their life’s journey. We offer various services and resources to the community members that include but are not limited to resource connection and care coordination, food security, transportation, caregiver support, minor home repair, and more. 

United Indians of All Tribes Foundation

Employment & Training, General Community Resources 

United Indians of All Tribes Foundation has wrap-around services for the urban Native Community. We have Native Workforce, Elders Program, Daybreak Star Preschool, Foster Care Support, Uŋčí Makhá Home Visiting Program, Our Strong Fathers Program, and Homeless Prevention Program. 

Urban Leage of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS)

The ULMS was established in 1930 to become one of approximately 92 affiliates of the National Urban League (NUL). Today, ULMS implements its mission within our Seattle/King County service area through advocacy, direct programming, community outreach, and coalition building in seven major pillars of focus: (1) housing, (2) education, (3) workforce development, (4) public health, (5) entrepreneurship, (6) civic engagement, and (7) financial empowerment.

Urban Native Education Alliance (UNEA)

Education, Food Assistance, General Community Resources

UNEA offers various free Native-focused community programs and events for youth ages 4-24, their families, and any volunteers and guests willing to help/participate. The Clear Sky program meets Tuesday and Thursday nights 6-8pm at North Seattle College room in CC1161 (southwest corner of the southwest building; we place sandwich boards to point the way from the traffic light at N 95th St and College Way). Includes dinner, Natives on the Rise Mentorship and tutoring/academic support, and more.

Valley Cities Behavioral Health Care

Behavioral Health Services (Mental Health & Chemical Dependency)

Established by community members of South King County in 1965 and a United Way agency since 1967, Valley Cities Behavioral Health Care has provided behavioral health care services to people of all ages for over 50 years. Through the ongoing support of our community, Valley Cities delivers compassionate care at 12 comprehensive outpatient clinics located in Auburn, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Kent, Midway, Renton, and multiple sites in Seattle.

Financial Resources and Access

As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), Verity serves and supports those who have been historically excluded from traditional financial services. Our mission-driven organization actively breaks down barriers to help individuals and small businesses achieve and sustain financial well-being. 

Youth Maritime Program - Evergreen Goodwill

Employment & Training

Youth Maritime Program is a two-year paid internship program designed for high school students that focuses on developing college, career, and life skills to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities they will face after high school.
