  • The Equity and Civil Rights Office of the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) promotes equal access, academic inclusion, and full educational participation in our Washington schools among our state's diverse, underrepresented and underserved populations.
  • Washington State Office of the Education Ombuds (OEO) is a conflict resolution service located in the Governor’s Office for Washington families and public schools. Education ombuds are trained problem solvers who bring families and educators together to resolve conflict and disputes that affect students. As impartial third parties, they provide consultation, coaching, facilitation, and mediation services.

Police

The Seattle Office for Civil Rights (SOCR) now provides another way for people to report concerns and file complaints about the conduct of Seattle Police Officers.

You can file a complaint about police conduct by contacting the Office for Civil Rights at (206) 684-4500, TTY 7-1-1. We will document your complaint and file it with the Office of Professional Accountability (OPA). OPA is the office within the Seattle Police Department that investigates complaints about police misconduct.

The office is headed by a civilian. OPA will review your complaint and follow-up with you.
