The Back to Business program supports small businesses impacted by vandalism and property damage. It offers help in three areas:
- Storefront Repair Fund. Grants to help businesses reimburse the costs for fixing damages from vandalism or other property damage.
- Storefront Security Fund. A grant to reimburse business owners to cover the cost of improving security.
- Neighborhood Business District Investments. Funding to improve public safety and the look of neighborhood business areas.
This program builds on the success of the Storefront Repair Fund, which provided grants to small businesses to repair property damage between 2022 and 2024.
Neighborhood Business District Investments
In addition to grants for individual businesses, we are working with Business Improvement Areas and neighborhood organizations to fund projects that improve public safety and make neighborhoods more welcoming across Seattle. Our goal is to support community-led solutions that address local challenges.
The Back to Business Program is part of the City of Seattle’s economic recovery plan. It was created with input from the Small Business Policy Group convened by our office and the Mayor’s Office to help businesses recover, rebuild, and continue serving their communities.
Our office is dedicated to creating an accessible and inclusive economy that works for everyone in Seattle by ensuring all communities have access to economic opportunities.
The City of Seattle encourages everyone to participate in its programs and activities. If you need help, translation, disability accommodations, or materials in a different format, contact our office at (206) 684-8090 or at OED@seattle.gov.
