New Connections and Spaces

Check out all of the projects that are part of the new Seattle waterfront.

Partners also took their own steps to reinvest in Seattle's waterfront, and have new projects that connect directly to Overlook Walk.

  • Pike Place Market's MarketFront:  In 2017, Pike Place Market grew for the first time with the new “MarketFront”, a waterfront-facing westward expansion of the Market featuring more small businesses, farmers, senior housing, public art, and a new neighborhood center.

  • Seattle Aquarium's Ocean Pavilion:  Seattle Aquarium’s Ocean Pavilion connects Seattle to the Indo-Pacific ecosystem in the Coral Triangle. Ocean Pavilion is an extension of the existing Seattle Aquarium on Piers 59 and 60.

Maintenance & Public Safety

Seattle Center serves as Seattle’s lead department for Waterfront Park maintenance, operations, and public safety.

Public Safety

Seattle Center Emergency Services Unit (ESU) employs a dedicated staff of uniformed security officers who regularly patrol Waterfront Park 24 hours a day by foot, bicycle, and vehicle. They also provide first aid and respond to emergencies and visitor inquiries.

ESU coordinates closely with Seattle Police Department (SPD) personnel to ensure compliance with Waterfront Park rules of conduct. Additionally, ESU works to build relationships with community members and connect park goers with social services in partnership with REACH

Emergency Services Unit: (206) 733-9988 or waterfrontpark@seattle.gov

Maintenance

Seattle Center provides daily maintenance of Waterfront Park and coordinates with other city departments when maintenance is required that falls within their jurisdiction.
