Request for Investment - 2018 Summer Learning

Request for Investment - 2018 Summer Learning

SUMMARY

In Summer 2018, the Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL) will invest up to $1 million in school and community-based programs that prevent summer learning loss and improve academic outcomes for Seattle elementary, middle, and high school students.

This funding is provided by the Families and Education Levy, which was last approved by voters in 2011.  In addition, funding has also been provided by the 2018 City Budget to incorporate culturally responsive practices into Levy summer programming.

Anticipated Funding:

  • Elementary | 1st - 5th grade | Up to $260,932
  • Middle School | 6th - 8th grade | Up to $286,373
  • High School | 9th - 12th grade | Up to $461,250
Schools and community-based organizations (CBOs) are eligible to apply.  Funds will be awarded on a competitive basis.
