Culturally Responsive Summer Programs
SUMMARY | |
In Summer 2017, the Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL) will invest up to $340,000 in community-based programs that prevent summer learning loss and improve academic outcomes for African-American/Black students and other students of color through culturally responsive programming. This investment is the result of the Mayor's Education Summit, a nearly year-long process which culminated in recommendations to the Mayor on ways that the City of Seattle and partners can ensure that all of Seattle's children have an equal opportunity to succeed in school and in life.
