Current Openings

SMC is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Court as a Magistrate. Magistrates conduct mitigation hearings and civil trials on contested infractions and settlement conferences. Magistrates rule on legal motions, decide the merits of cases, hears and evaluates evidence and witness credibility and makes findings of facts and conclusions of law. Magistrates may serve in formal court as a judge pro tempore when an elected judge is unavailable. Magistrates directly interact with citizens and must ensure that each person is afforded a full and fair hearing.
Policy and Program Analyst
SMC is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Program and Policy Analyst to join the Court's Research, Planning and Evaluation Group (RPEG). RPEG supports the Court by providing evaluation and analytical expertise in support of current programs and helps plan future Court innovations. Current RPEG work is focused on developing data structures to drive business insights and Court policy, improving pre-trial services and defendant reentry opportunities, planning speciality court programs and participating on interdisciplinary teams.
