Payment Plan/Community Service Plan Application

Seattle Municipal Court allows people to pay fines and fees over time in monthly payment plans. Standard payment plans are at least $50 monthly, usually for up to two years.

If you are receiving or are eligible to receive government financial assistance, you may be able to get a monthly payment plan as low as $25 monthly** or you can perform community service work at an approved charitable organization instead of paying.

The court accepts online applications for payment plans and community service plans. To apply, complete the form below. There is a $4 administrative fee to set up any payment plan that includes non-criminal obligations. (For example, traffic, non-traffic, parking, traffic camera tickets). There is no fee for community service** plans.

If your payment plan request is approved, we will email or mail a copy of the plan agreement, which includes a payment schedule. Your first payment will be due 30 days from the agreement date. If your community service plan is approved, we will send you a list of agencies to choose from and a timesheet for the agency to record your hours and sign. You will have at least 30 days to complete your hours, with more time if your plan is for more than 15 hours.

If you want us to contact you by email, please make sure you add an email in the form below. If your request is not approved, we will contact you to tell you why and discuss your options.

Common reasons a payment plan request may be denied:

  • The case/ticket was on a previous plan that you failed to complete.
  • The monthly amount you asked for would exceed the two-year limit of payment plans.
  • The case/ticket is in collections.
