NE 110th St

 This project is complete!

The last pieces of the NE 110th St project was completed in 2019.

Pedestrian access improvements in several locations along NE 110th St to make it easier for kids to walk to school.

Project overview

NE 110th St provides an important connection for people walking in the Meadowbrook neighborhood, including students traveling to Nathan Hale High School, Jane Addams Middle School, and John Rogers Elementary School. We’re making mobility improvements in three locations along NE 110th St to make it safer and easier for people to walk in this area:

  • NE 110th St between 34th Ave NE and 35th Ave NE
We’re planning to install a traditional concrete sidewalk on the north side of the street that will replace the existing painted walkway. This project also includes additional drainage repairs east of 35th Ave NE to reduce ponding during heavy rains. Construction will occur as soon as 2019.
  • NE 110th St between 35th Ave NE and 36th Ave NE
This project will construct a temporary asphalt pathway on the south side of the street with a new temporary pedestrian bridge over Thornton Creek. The temporary bridge and pathway will be replaced by traditional concrete sidewalks with a future project that replaces the roadway bridge. Construction of the temporary pathway and pedestrian bridge will occur during summer or fall 2018.
  • NE 110th St between 40th Ave NE and Sand Point Way NE
We’re planning to install a traditional concrete sidewalk on the south side of the street, connecting John Rogers Elementary School to Sand Point Way NE. The project was developed from a community-led Neighborhood Parks and Street Fund (NPSF) project in 2015. Construction will occur as soon as 2019.
