Cadet Program

Individuals seeking a career as a Seattle Firefighter can apply to participate in one of the department's Cadet Programs. There are two separate cadet programs offered, differentiated by age and program goals.

The Fire Cadet Company 511 program was created in 1981 by former Seattle Fire Chief, Robert L. Swartout. This program offers young adults an opportunity to explore a career in the fire service.
