Preventable Alarms Initiative

COVID Updates - Services During Pandemic and Re-Opening

The Fire Marshal's Office is providing all services at this time, with some modifications to align with the Governor's Healthy Washington - Roadmap to Recovery plan approved for King County. Our employees are following safe worksite guidelines and ask our customers to do so as well at their jobsites. Please note: our walk-in counter at 220 3rd Ave S has limited hours, and we recommend contacting us by email.

The Seattle Fire Department responds to over 5,000 false alarms per year. Preventable alarms take first responders out of service for legitimate emergencies. Seattle is writing citations of $373+ for "false" or preventable fire alarms.
